UNIQUE MOVEMENT MECHANISM

The Pillbug moves similarly to the Queen Bee, advancing one space at a time. In addition to its movement, the Pillbug possesses a unique ability to manipulate the positions of adjacent un-stacked pieces.

STRATEGIC PLAY

The Pillbug can advance an adjacent piece—regardless of whether it’s a friend or foe—by two spaces: first onto the Pillbug itself, and then into an empty space nearby.

LIMITATIONS ON MOVEMENT

However, certain restrictions apply to its ability: it cannot move the opponent’s most recently moved piece, nor any piece in a stack, and must adhere to the One Hive and Freedom to Move rules.

ADDING STRATEGIC DEPTH

Once a piece has been moved by the Pillbug, it will remain immobile on the player’s next turn, preventing further movement or ability use. The mosquito can imitate either the movement or special ability of the Pillbug, maintaining the game’s strategic depth.
