Step into the vibrant world of Mumbai's Dabba Wala, where over five thousand workers in traditional white clothing deliver more than 200,000 dabbas (multi-tiered lunch boxes) daily. This unique service has become a staple of the city since 1890, facilitating the transit of freshly prepared meals from family homes to busy offices across the metropolis.

ENGAGING GAME MECHANICS

Dabba Walla offers an engaging two-phase gameplay experience: the Pick-up Phase and the Delivery Phase. In the Pick-up Phase, players take turns maneuvering their Dabba Walla through Mumbai, collecting dabba cards. By playing one of three cards in hand, players acquire polyomino dabba tiles that vary in size from 1 to 4 squares, stacking them higher as rounds progress. Players must strategically place their dabbas, using the empty ones to fill gaps and seeking out bonuses through connecting symbols.

STRATEGIC DELIVERY PHASE

Once fifteen tiles have been collected in carts, it’s time for the Delivery Phase. Players draw and play cards simultaneously to complete delivery rounds corresponding to the highest stack level achieved. Scoring occurs based on the collected dabbas, and even players who have no dabbas on the current scoring level participate by playing cards without scoring anything.

EXPANSIONS FOR ADDED FUN

Dabba Walla includes two expansion modules that introduce new scoring methods and modify the value of dabbas being delivered, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
